The Bra Consultancy are proud supporters of Future Dreams, an incredible breast cancer charity that raises funds to help support women and men through their breast cancer journey. No one should have to face cancer alone, and Future Dreams have helped make that a reality for thousands of women.
Future Dreams Breast Cancer Charity was established in 2008 by mother and daughter Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie after both were diagnosed with breast cancer, Danielle just 35 and a mother to three young children. Tragically, both women lost their lives to the disease within a year of each other in 2009. Their dream was to make sure that nobody should ever have to face this illness on their own.
Future Dreams has raised a staggering £6.5m over the past 12 years, pledging funds towards the charity’s three divisions: support, awareness and research, focusing on secondary breast cancer.
At the start of the pandemic, Future Dreams mission adapted to practical support for patients dealing with their diagnosis in such unprecedented times. The charity actioned a nationwide campaign to support patients going through treatment and surgery for breast cancer. To date, Future Dreams has distributed over 6,000 Care Packages through the NHS, donated over 1000 post-surgery bras, provided vital breast forms, headscarves, drainbags and 100’s of meals for NHS staff.
The charity will be opening Future Dreams House later this year where those touched by breast cancer will be able to access complimentary practical support including image workshops, life-coaching, financial advice, nutritional advice on exercise and healthy eating, as well as other vital support services for those going through treatment and their families.
Every ten minutes a woman in the UK is given a breast cancer diagnosis. The pandemic halted virtually all the charity’s fundraising events. To continue to be able to help and support those touched by breast cancer, your help and support is crucial.
Thank you for helping to make a difference to the lives of those touched by breast cancer.
